CVA 447-8169.1

Also built at Burrard Drydock’s North Vancouver yard, the newly delivered 1,358-ton Simon Fraser is pictured at Ballantyne Pier in her Transport Canada livery of black hull, white superstructure, and yellow funnel.

Classed as “ice-strengthened” and not icebreaker”, the CCGS Simon Fraser would go on to support the RCMP vessel Nadon on her west-to-east transit of the Northwest Passage in 2000.
